The 25-year-old McCarthy went undrafted out of Notre Dame, but was signed as a free agent by Denver in 2010. The Louisiana native, who played collegiately for both Tulane and Virginia, racked up 21 catches for 299 yards and three touchdowns in the 2010 regular season, adding four grabs for 57 yards in that year's Grey Cup loss to Montreal.
