Rheinecker started one game for Texas this season, a no-decision on June 5 against Detroit, allowing four runs and seven hits in three innings with four walks and one strikeout. He was 4-2 with a 3.57 ERA in nine starts for the RedHawks.

To make room on the roster, Texas optioned pitcher Robinson Tejeda to Oklahoma. Tejeda is a disappointing 5-9 with a 6.61 ERA in 19 starts in 2007.
